In an ideal world, I would gather up all the snails and slugs at the allotment and transport them to a woodland somewhere far away from my plot. But unfortunately in the real world that’s just not a feasible option. Much as I don’t like doing it, I am now back to using the poison.
And that is just about all I’m doing at the moment, pest control. With all the rain we’ve been having they’ve been out in force. The weeds are also thriving, but I’ve not been doing much weeding either. Unlike some committed growers I know, I stay inside when it rains. So apart from occasional trips to do some sprinkling of the bright blue pellets, not much else has been happening there. Here’s a picture from my last quick visit.
