So far I’ve had a harvest from one potato plant at the allotment and one of the two pot plants in the garden. The remaining seven allotment plants have all succumbed to blight. I’ve chopped them down to ground level and have yet to find out how things are looking beneath the soil.
After a promising start for the Nadine it was actually the Anya that managed to survive for longer than the production of just six potatoes (the one still growing, on the right). The foliage of the Nadine had already faded into obscurity a few weeks back so I’d been tending a stump ever since. Last week I got round to excavating it and was pleased to find six healthy looking potatoes nestled below. Not a huge harvest I know, but better than nothing at all.
